Communications and Outreach
Barrera Associates equips clients with effective communications and the ability to thrive in a competitive business world with the multiplicity of media available today. We do this by providing a combination of integrated communication strategies, the effective development and deployment of communication plans and programs, and the articulation of core, strategic organizational messages.
The following are some of the services that we provide in this area:
Communications
- Identify target audiences
- Format recommendations (handbooks, video, software package, fact sheet, etc.) for the purpose and intended audience
- Write and edit documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Write, rewrite, organize text, arrange, rearrange tabular materials, assess illustrations for clarity of presentation, and revise as needed to ensure the tone and complexity of the document are appropriate for the intended audience
- Receive and respond to telephone and written information requests, generate mailing labels from project databases, and maintain comprehensive national databases organized categorically to enable the dissemination of specific messages to selected groups according to the goals of a particular initiative
- Develop multimedia materials as part of a curriculum for both distance learning and face to face settings
- Develop video anchored training programs and CD-ROMs representing materials on English/Spanish educational programs
- Create graphics and illustrations, designing formats and preparing camera-ready copy and electronic formatted versions according to the client's standards/requirements
Outreach
- Develop and design effective dissemination plans to meet the needs of the client and accomplish program goals.
- Provide dissemination services that can support customer’s access to and use of information products through telephone hotlines, computerized information, clearinghouse operations, and training and user support
- Provide high-quality foreign language translation services for selected publications and information products
- Conduct evaluations to determine whether intended audiences are receiving needed information in a form that is beneficial and effective
- Develop, update, and maintain websites
